Get your sweat on and give your Memorial Day a little extra meaning with Remember the Heroes, a fitness-focused event, supporting the Travis Marion Foundation. Participants register to complete in CrossFit workouts, each inspired by a specific war hero.
Go For The Beard Gold
Friday through Sunday, May 26-28, at the Music Farm
Looking for something a little different? Compete, or come out and cheer on, your favorite facial hair at 8th Annual Beard & Mustache Championships. The weekend-long event kicks off at the pre-party on Friday night at the Tattooed Moose on Johns Island, moves downtown to Home Team on Saturday afternoon for the fierce competition, and wraps up at the farewell brunch Sunday morning. A percentage of ticket sales goes to Lowcountry Women with Wings and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

10 AM, Saturday, May 27, at Marion Square (Downtown Charleston)
Piccolo Spoleto Festival's annual Family Day is happening again this year. In addition to the Charleston Farmers Market (which occurs every Saturday), Marion Square will host the Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibition, as well as arts & crafts, and dancing for the whole family. Things kick up a notch with a performance by Atlanta's "wildest community band", the Seed & Feed Marching Abominable. The day culminates in an evening concert of show tunes and Broadway favorites along with some free patriotic music to honor the men and women who serve in the armed forces.
Monday, May 29, Gates open at 6 PM, first pitch at 7:05, at Joe Riley Stadium
Head to Joe Riley Stadium (lovingly nicknamed, "The Joe") to watch your Charleston RiverDogs take on the the West Virginia Power this Memorial Day. It also marks the beginning of "Monday Dog Days," where man's best friend gets in free and their humans can enjoy $1 beers and $1 hot dogs. As part of "Dogs With a Cause," the RiverDogs and Blackbaud, will share the spotlight with a local nonprofit each Monday home game!... Pets for Vets!
