Welcoming a new property to our portfolio is an exciting part of our job, particularly when we have been heavily involved in its progress. This project was another one that offered us the chance to work in conjunction with the team at Luxury Simplified Construction. Located at 1 Todd Street, this home had been a dilapidated building for many years, having experienced a fire back in the 1990’s with the piazza finally collapsing in to the street in 2015.
Think about what characteristics of your home make you feel just that - at home! Being in a house adds a sense of natural comfort. "Homey," if you will. It is your own space for just you and your family. You have bedrooms to relax and unwind, a kitchen to prepare meals and congregate with friends and family, you have outdoor space to enjoy Charleston’s weather and the surrounding vistas whether that means a trendy downtown loft or beachfront with sunrise views. Having these different spaces to create memories with your loved ones or create a relaxing retreat for yourself and enhances your memories and experience.
Luxury Simplified Retreats is investing in something big that will enhance our client’s experience when searching online for their ideal vacation getaway. In real life, people experience things visually and spatially. We form ideas of what we perceive to be the ideal space and by connecting these perceptions to our individual tastes we form an opinion. Virtual reality 3D imaging is the ultimate viewing platform to deliver an immersive experience and allow you to explore each property in exacting detail, as if you are walking through it yourself - right from your own home!
Sometimes, when we bring a new property into our portfolio of luxury vacation homes, the owner has already given their vacation home a name - and that's great! But on some occasions, we need to come up with a name for the house on our own and, more often than not, the house or the setting is so distinctive - it practically names itself! That is the case for our newest listing, located in downtown Charleston's historic Harleston Village neighborhood. Set on the corner of Bull Street and Rutledge Avenue is a grand historic home built by an undocumented builder in the early 1840s. A man by the name of Count Eugene Joseph Huchet, a cotton trader and French immigrant purportedly descended from European nobility, purchased the house in 1857 to be the home for his family. Today, the Hutchet House is now home to six private luxury units after it was divided into condos in the early 1980s when the house was renovated.
What is the point of a vacation if you are not completely and utterly stress free? At Luxury Simplified Retreats, our team understands the value of a “true” vacation with your family and friends. Less stress and more quality time results in a vacation where all you need to do is focus on making the memories!
Did you know that VRBO and HomeAway charge a hefty service fee just for booking through their site? We think this is outrageous considering it adds up to 9% onto your total rental fee. To put this in perspective, so that you can see just how this booking fee might impact your bottom line, I will provide an example from a recent booking.
What better way to bring family and friends together than to experience a unique and seamless experience in a luxury vacation retreat? Within the last few years, the vacation rental market has spiked dramatically thanks to the Internet. Guests now have a wide array of homes to choose from, and of course, they want only the best for their friends and family.
