Enter our guide to getting crafty with beers around Charleston! As always, be safe and order an Uber or Lyft to take you to each taproom.

Palmetto Brewing Co

It’s only fair that we begin with Charleston’s longest running brewery, Palmetto Brewing Co. It’s the first licensed brewery in South Carolina since the end of Prohibition and began pouring delicious beers in 1993, long before the craft brewery renaissance began in the state. Located on Huger Street on the upper Peninsula, you’ll find tasty brews such as their Huger Street IPA and Lowcountry Lager.

289 Huger St, Charleston, SC 29403

Holy City Brewing

Located in North Charleston, and with a newly opened location downtown, Holy City has been a mainstay in North Charleston since 2011. Aside from their brews, you can find a lively music scene on weekends along with a wide variety of brunch specials on Sunday. You won’t want to miss their Collision Fries as an appetizer.

Munkle Brewing Co

Recently opened in 2018, Munkle has quickly created a name for themselves for their Belgian-style beers. Munkle serves up flavorful selections, mostly in the 5-6% ABV range, in a casual setting. You’ll find pool tables, cornhole boards, and this laid-back brewery is incredibly family friendly.

Edmund’s Oast Brewing

The anchor of the Brewing District, Edmund’s Oast is an expansive brewery that offers over 20 beers of its own creation in a lively taproom. Their wood-fired pizzas and daily happy hour is a fan favorite. If you’re in need of more food selections, walk across the spacious courtyard to Workshop to taste a variety of pop-up restaurants.
